Basketball Operations Analyst; Data Engineering
Organization: Phoenix Suns
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Overview: The Basketball Operations Analyst; Data Engineering will assist in the formation and maintenance of the data pipeline. The role will work on data ingestion and aggregation projects that will be used by front office personnel to influence decision-making and improve the organization’s processes.
What This Role Will Do:
Ingestion and aggregation of data (ETL process)
Documentation
Software deployment and version control
Basic understanding of basketball concepts
Maintains regular and reliable attendance
Collaboration with others on a developing codebase
Necessary Skills:
Expertise in one programming language required; Python highly preferred
SQL – querying, stored procedures, table creation and alteration
Familiarity with data extraction / transformation / load (ETL) process
Version control software (git)
Application deployment – automation
Cloud database experience (highly preferred)
AWS suite of services (specifically SQS, SNS, Lambda and S3) (preferred)
Backend web framework experience (preferred)
Why we like it?
This role is a wonderful chance to put programming skills to use within the sports world, and specifically within an NBA front office. If you have a background in Computer Science and love for basketball, definitely check out this new role in Phoenix.
